The Belize Bank Limited has been a proud sponsor of the game of basketball for several seasons so far. This season, was no different as the Belize Bank Limited sponsored a team in the Under-26 Basketball Tournament. The Belize Bank Junior Bulldogs played against the Central American University Champions, the UB Black Jaguars in the championship games.

The Bulldogs entered the finals with a 15 win -1 loss record, having won both games of their playoff series against the Mesop Guardian Bombers, who were the only team to defeat the Bulldogs during the regular season. The UB Black Jaguars entered the finals with a 12 win 5 loss record.

Game 1 was played at the Belize City Center on 26th March 2008, where the Belize Bank Junior Bulldogs began their bragging rights as Champions with a victory of 59-47. The top scorers of the game was Darwin “Puppy” Leslie with 16 pts, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and, 2 steals and Densmore “Wabble” Edwards with 14 pts, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals.

The following night, Game 2 was held at the UB Sports Complex in Belmopan City . In this game, the Belize Bank Junior Bulldogs held on to a slim victory and laid their claim to the championship with a victory of 63-61. The top scorers of that game was Greg “Chipy” Rudon with 20 pts, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists and Darwin “Puppy” Leslie with 10 pts, 9 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 blocks, and 7 steals.

A ceremony was held after Game 2 for the presentation of the Championship Trophies as well as for the presentation of individual awards.
