BELIZE CITY, BELIZE — The Belize Bank Limited proudly hosted its 14th Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments of 16 outstanding students from across the country. Awarded on the dual foundation of academic excellence and financial need, these scholarships reflect the Bank’s enduring commitment to education as a cornerstone of national development and community growth.
Since its inception, the Belize Bank Scholarship Program has invested in the potential of 230 Belizean youth—supporting 140 high school students and 90 sixth form scholars. This year’s 16 new recipients join a growing legacy of ambitious young leaders empowered to achieve their educational goals.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Hon. Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology, who delivered the keynote address emphasizing the transformative power of accessible education.
Addressing the scholars, Belize Bank’s Executive Chairman & CEO, Mr. Filippo Alario, highlighted that the program goes far beyond financial aid. He underscored the crucial role of family support and emphasized the Bank's holistic development framework, which pairs scholars directly with Belize Bank managers for ongoing guidance and professional mentorship.
"The Belize Bank remains steadfast in our dedication to investing in the future of Belize," said Mr. Alario. "By nurturing our youth today, we are helping build the resilient, skilled, and visionary leaders of tomorrow."
