Job Purpose:

The Securities Clerk is primarily responsible for all processes related to the custody and safekeeping of promissory notes and credit facility agreements for all corporate and retail loans in a timely manner for the entire Bank’s network. He/she will be responsible for actively following up with related parties for its timely submission as well as creating, recording, archiving and maintaining system records that assist in the proper management of the documents.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately, timely and properly follow up on all new promissory notes and credit facility agreements with Lenders, Relationship Managers and Branch Managers
  • Ensure that all promissory notes are properly executed and that same is easily identifiable in the client’s physical record
  • Actively follow up with Lending Officers and Relationship Manager for executed promissory notes and credit facility agreements
  • Examines promissory notes and facility agreements ensuring they are properly executed and completed before filing
  • Records, files, indexes, and maintains physical promissory notes and credit facility agreements in accordance with the Bank’s policies and processes to allow for timely and orderly retrieval

 

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance or related field from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum one (1) year of progressive work experience in Banking/financial services
  • Knowledge of the banking industry in Belize and general regulatory procedures mandated by the Central Bank of Belize

 

Skill & Ability Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the Bank’s workflow, systems, processes, and responsibility of each department
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s Credit/Lending Policies and Procedures
  • Computer literate at an intermediate to advanced level with proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with sound judgment and tact in customer interaction
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality to highest priority in all functions at the Bank
  • Ability to maintain professional maturity/composure and a positive attitude
