The Belize Bank Ltd. ensures that your data and account information is always protected; however, you can still be a victim of a PHISHING SCAM. This type of scam is in which criminals send seemingly authentic emails or make phone calls to gain your personal information. Follow the tips below to avoid getting phished:

If you get an email or pop-up message that asks for personal or financial information, Do Not reply or click on the link in the message. The Bank will NEVER ask for your username, password, PIN or any other credentials.

Review credit card and bank account statements as soon as you receive them to determine whether there are any unauthorized charges. You can receive automatic transactional alerts when you set up ALERTS via ALERT Subscription. View steps here: SMS Banking and then log into the Online banking portal to set up Alerts.

Be cautious about opening any attachment or downloading any files from emails you receive, regardless of who sent them.

Report any suspicious activity to The Belize Bank Ltd. Once logged in to the Belize Bank’s Online Banking Portal, you can send a message via the Online Message Center as it is the safest means of contacting the bank and verifies you as the rightful account holder.
